If your design is too complicated for silkscreen, DTF is the answer.
Full-colour prints. Gradients. Photographs. Fine lines. Dark fabrics. DTF handles all of it, from 10 pieces upward, with no colour limits and no setup fee. It's the most versatile digital printing method available in Singapore right now — and it's what we used for Science Centre Singapore.
What Is DTF Printing?
DTF stands for Direct to Film. Your artwork is printed in full colour onto a special clear film. A hot-melt adhesive powder is then applied and cured onto the film. The finished transfer is heat-pressed directly onto your garment.
The result is a vibrant, detailed print with a slight texture you can feel on the fabric. It bonds firmly to the garment surface and holds up well through washing when cared for properly.
DTF works on cotton, dri-fit, polyester, and most other fabric types. It works equally well on white, light, and dark-coloured garments — because the white layer is already built into the transfer.
DTF vs. Silkscreen vs. Heat Transfer
The simple rule: if your design has gradients, more than 4 colours, or fine detail that silkscreen can't hold cleanly, DTF is the right call. For a bold, 1–3 colour logo on a large order, silkscreen will be more cost-effective.
Reference Price
From S$9.50 per piece — A4-size DTF print, 1 position, cotton t-shirt, 30 pieces.

When to Choose DTF
DTF is the right call when:
-
Your design is full-colour, has gradients, or is a photograph
-
You need fine lines or small text that silkscreen can't hold accurately
-
You're printing on a dark-coloured garment
-
You want individual personalisation — different names or numbers across pieces in the same order
-
You're ordering fewer than 5 pieces and silkscreen setup costs don't make sense
For orders of 50+ pieces with a bold, simple 1–3 colour design, silkscreen will typically cost less. Not sure? Send us your artwork and quantity and we'll advise.
Caring for Your DTF Print
-
Wash inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle
-
Do not tumble dry on high heat
-
Do not iron directly over the print
-
Avoid bleach
